Five Recommended Authors of Biblical Fiction

Recommended Authors of Biblical Fiction

What is exactly Biblical fiction? Basically, it refers to works of fiction that uses characters and events taken from the Bible.

I absolutely admire Biblical fiction. The way authors can re-create stories from the Bible is aspiring. Sometimes when I read the Bible it's hard to relate to in my own life. When I can read the story in a different and more creative way, I understand it better. Thus, I feel more connected to God and ultimately understand him better.

Here are five recommended authors of Biblical Fiction:

1. Tessa Afshar

Tessa Afshar is an award-winning author. She grew up in Iran in a Muslim family. When she moved to England she fell in love with reading and writing. In her twenties, she converted to Christianity. I really like Tessa's writing. She has a real talent for recreating stories from the Bible. She immerses you in the story and you seriously can't stop reading until you find out what happens!

Recommended Books:

2. Angela Hunt

Angela has written over 100 books. A few of her books have won the Christy award and she has sold over five million copies. What I like about Angela is that she talks about her furbabies (dogs) on her website. That made my heart smile! Not only does she write but she does photography! How neat is that? She currently lives in Clearwater, Florida.

Recommended Books:

3. Connilyn Cossette

Connilyn is a relatively new author but she has already achieved so much. She has grown quite an audience on Social Media, is a best selling author and has been nominated for the Christy awards. What I found relatable is that like me, she was also was passionate about history when growing up. It's always nice finding authors that you can relate to in some way!

Recommended Books:

4. Mesu Andrews

Mesu has a beautiful testimony that everyone must read! You can read it, HERE. She is very passionate about the Bible and bringing the stories to life through her books. Mesu is a lovely lady and communicates with her readers often. You must subscribe to her newsletter! She sends one often and some of them have free experts from her new releases. I really appreciate it when authors are personable with their readers.

Recommended Books:

5. Francine Rivers

Francine is a well-known author. She not only writes Biblical fiction but also historical fiction. What I found inspiring is that Francine did not encounter Christ until later in life. She was already married with three children when she rediscovered Christ. She is the perfect example that it's never too late! Her first Christian novel, Redeeming Love is a symbol of her new statement of faith. Since 1986 she has written 20 novels and many of them have won the Christy award and RITA award. Also, on her website, she has a picture of her and her husband- and they are the cutest together!
