The synopsis on the back of the book:

Are you experiencing the deep peace and joy that connection with God as your Father can bring? Are you confident in His presence? Do you feel your worth and value to God ebbs and flows according to how “good” or “bad” you are?

Working for God is hard. Trying to serve Him from a distance is even harder.

Speaking from personal experience, Anastasya Laverdiere conveys the message that the life of service and devotion to God must come from a relationship with Him as His child to experience the fullness of what He offers. Servant Sons and Daughters builds a strong biblical basis to receive a life-changing revelation of our true identity and inheritance as God’s children.

If you long for deeper intimacy with God, this book is a journey into the heart He has towards you and an invitation to receive His best for you in every area of your life.

servant sons and daughters anstasya laverdiere book review
Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into HIs own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.
— Ephesians 1:4-6, NLT

Why I Choose This Book

Livy was so kind to send me this book to review. I have worked with Livy before on a previous book tour. This is Anastasya's first book so I wanted to help promote it!

First Initial Thoughts

Sometimes, an author's first book can be a little rough. However, that was not the case as I was first divulging into Servant Songs and Daughters.

I really liked how each section was set up. She brought in real life examples, so it felt like we were talking one on one. Therefore, it felt more personable and relatable. I also appreciated that each chapter was shorter (sometimes this can be a pet peeve of mine).

I also really liked that she had a lot of Bible verses throughout. It made me feel more confident that she had done her research.

Message Conveyed?

Anastasya wrote in a way that helped me understand scripture. She has a talent in really grasping what the scripture meant and how it applies to be a servant son or daughter. Even though some of the sections did overlap one another in a way, she didn't repeat herself so each section was fresh with information. I think she definitely helped the reader understand the beautiful relationship with God and the relationship He strives to have with us.

God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
— 1 John 1:5-7, ESV

Final Thoughts

This is a great book for those that are new to the Christian faith or renewing their faith. Especially those that want to know what it means to be a servant son or daughter.

Through media, friends, and family, and it is easy to get an "idea" of what it means to be a son or daughter of God. However, the only way to really know - is to read the Bible. Anstasya dwells deep into the Bible with examples and helps us understand.

There were four parts to this book. What matters most, children's clothing, devoted sons, and the ultimate servant son.

I really liked part one because she explains how much God really does love us. She goes over Justification, forgiveness, and acceptance - from God, our father. I think this was the heartwarming section because it just made me feel good! It truly reminded me of God's love for us.

However, I also appreciated the fact that she covered a chapter on sin. Just because God loves us, it doesn't give us free reign to commit sinful actions. However, when we receive Christ in our hearts and welcome God in our lives, we are then forgiven of our past sins. It truly is amazing when we make that decision!

Would I Recommend?

Most definitely! I think anyone, wherever they are in their walk with God will appreciate this book.
